Stimulistless

There’s never been a good time to be poor,
but there are many fine times to be broke,
and this is one, that’s all. The daily news
is awful for the wise and virtuous:
I wish that I could comfort them with more
than my feckless example, or my fey
and irritating optimism. When
the good man loses everything he has
put aside through thrift and patience, I
would have to be an idiot to say
that he should try to see the hands of God
in his predicament. Thrift and Patience!
Are these not God’s hands? Up until this chance,
‘twas these that made things possible ‘round here.
