I Told You So

It seems that I owe you an "I told you so"
and you're so certain I'll oblige.
What if instead I simply swear to you
that I am always going to care for you?

.....and if they ask you how you know,
you can say I told you so.

It seems like everybody's reconciling,
and you're so certain I'll indulge -
but I can only watch the things you do
if I remain this far away from you.

.....You needn't ask me where I go:
if you recall, I told you so.

When things get so bad that you notice them,
your second thought will be of me.
You can speak for me on Judgement Day,
and I will stand by every word you say.

.....and when they ask you how you know,
you can say I told you so.
