I Just Thought We'd See More of Each Other

Ten eyes have I trusted in all my blind spots.
Ten ears have I bent when I thought I was lost.
Five souls have I trusted to keep me from losing my own:
I just thought we’d see more of each other.

I am slugging it out in the tar pits.
I slip in and out of a wormhole yea big.
Clairvoyants on jetpacks send emails in Latin -
But that’s neither here nor there.

It’s all perfectly fine, since I’m perfectly fine:
I know who I am after all of this time -
I just thought we’d see more of each other.

Ten hands have I clasped in the undertow.
Ten shoulders I’ve climb when the walls were too smooth.
Five hearts have a rhythm that somewhat resembles my own:
I just thought we’d see more of each other.

I am orbiting dubious planets:
I’m attracting a few satellites of my own,
but the ones who are sane are too harried to see
that I’m neither here nor there.

It’s all perfectly fine, since I’m perfectly fine:
I know who I am after all of this time -
I just thought we’d see more of each other.
